Why the Zipper® system?
The Zipper® system system is a modular traffic separator consisting of modules A and B. These allow the rapid transformation of the street through the construction of cycle lanes and roundabouts, widening sidewalks and narrowing streets at intersections.
Zipper® system configurations
The modularity of the Zipper® system allows different configurations and levels of roadway segregation to be generated, depending on the type of roadway and traffic intensity.
AA CONFIGURATIONS.
These are all configurations consisting solely of module A of the Zipper® system.
2A.
This configuration consists of two A modules of the Zipper® system. The distance between AA sets can be reduced or eliminated to make the cycle lane more difficult to encroach on, increasing safety in areas with heavy traffic or close to an intersection.
CONTINUED.
This configuration consists of a continuous barrier of Zipper® system A modules.
BA CONFIGURATIONS.
These are all configurations consisting solely of modules A & B of the Zipper® system.
B2AB.
This configuration consists of two A modules of the Zipper® system in the center and a B module at each end. The distance between each B2AB set can be shorten to make the cycle lane more difficult to invade, increasing safety in areas with heavy traffic or close to an intersection.
B4AB.
This configuration consists of four Zipper® system A modules in the center and one B module at each end. The distance between each B4AB set can be shorten to make the cycle lane more difficult to invade, increasing safety in areas with heavy traffic or close to an intersection.
INTERSECTIONS.
The modularity of the Zipper® system makes it possible to adapt the configuration of the segregation
in conflictive areas such as intersections, shared spaces, pedestrian areas, etc.
The Zipper® system in detail
Asymmetrical shape.
The design of the Zipper® system modules is asymmetrical. That means each side offers different levels of protection. This allows it to adapt to different traffic and street characteristics.
Non-slip texture.
The design of the Zipper® system modules is asymmetrical. That means each side offers different levels of protection. This allows it to adapt to different traffic and street characteristics.
Visibility
The Zipper® system modules are highly visible day and night thanks to their retro-reflective stripes.
Impact resistance.
The structural design of the Zipper® system modules and their anchor points provide high impact resistance.
Customization of the Zipper® system.
The modules that make up the Zipper® system can be customized by using different coloured paint or adhesive vinyl.
Colors.
Application of colours representing different motifs.
Application of colours chosen by the city of Lisbon in one of its cycle lanes.
Application of colours to create Wayfinding patterns.
Vinyl.
Recycled and recyclable materials
The way we work is in line with the circular economy and we focus on the resource cycle following a model based on reusing, repairing, remanufacturing and recovering existing materials and products, as opposed to using virgin materials. We manufacture all our products from recycled and recyclable materials.
Zipper® | Wire.
Made from various mixtures of industrial and post-consumer plastic waste, mostly PVC from leftover banners, hoses, electrical cable sheathing, out-of-standard batches, etc.
Zipper® | Zero.
Made from a material developed entirely from post-consumer plastic waste of municipal origin. This waste comes from refuse from packaging sorting plants.
